While waiting for a flight at the airport I heard someone yell “help, help, that man needs some help!” When I looked over I saw a man in a wheelchair seizing. I looked around and everyone was just standing there. So I immediately ran over to the man and I used my training from Terry’s CPR class. I delegated someone to call 911, someone to grab the AED, and instructed others to clear the area of safety hazards and make sure the man remained safe until his seizure was over. Thankfully the EMS came within a few minutes. They asked what happened and as I gave a recount of what occurred they said, “That is exactly what you needed to do. How did you know to do that?” I said, “I’ve been trained in CPR and my instructor walked us through a scenario just like this. I just followed the steps he gave me.”
